"Oh, you brought your camera?" Lulu asked, finally ending the silence.
"...Hm?" I had been a little lost in thought from observing the landscape, my eyes following it until it was out of reach and transcended into the skyline. So, I was a little surprised to suddenly hear her voice. I glanced down at my lap where I had put my own bag, realizing that it wasn't fully zipped. Sheesh! It's a good thing it didn't fall out and smash into the ground, idiot! "Ah, yeah," I then looked over to her, beginning to feel a smile cross my lips. "I take it everywhere with me. Anything could happen anywhere, you know?"
She nodded, returning a small smile of her own. "Could I see, perhaps?"
"O...Oh," My cheeks dashed red from the flattery and there was an odd, but l...light feeling starting to bubble up in my stomach. "Well, sure!" I granted, promptly taking the camera out and handing it over to her. "Just turn it on right here and flip to this settin—" Then, everything just...stopped. It was like time had become considerably slower, but only I was struck down in place. The one thing that seemed to defy this physic was the thought crashing through my mind. I forgot to change out the film. "No, w-wait, Lulu—!"
I was too late. She had already switched to the display screen, it revealing the content. I'm pretty sure her eyes became progressively wider as she flipped through each image, the 'Next' button beeping as she continued to press it. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my freaking god!
"I'm so sorry!" I yelped, turning towards her so quickly that there wasn't a doubt that I'd have whiplash tomorrow. "I know what it looks like but I swear I'm not a creep," I involuntarily began to wave my hands and it felt like my tongue was running ninety miles a minute. "I just think that some of the best moments are the moments one spends doing something that they really love but I know I took them without your permission so just say the word and I'll dele—" Suddenly, and unexpectedly, in the midst of this panic she just sort of…booped me on the nose. Whether it was to shut me up or calm me down, I wasn't sure. My face flared up at the contact and I couldn't help but just gawk at her. "H...Huh?"
It seemed like she was waiting until she knew that everything had settled down before finally retrieving her hand. I was pretty confused, but then she looked to me again and simply said, "Thank you, Matsunaga-san."
Siiiigh, entering the third month of the separation which was October, however I made use of it because Lulu's birthday was that month, the 6th! So, I wrote a little ficcy with this companion piece alongside it u/w/u; <3
